IAS Faculty, Trustees, and Members participated in ICTS at Ten, a gathering to celebrate the unity of science, on January 4–7, at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences campus in Bengaluru, India.

Robbert Dijkgraaf, Director and Leon Levy Professor, gave a public lecture on The Usefulness of Useless Knowledge (Princeton University Press, 2017). The lecture was followed by a panel discussion with Institute for Advanced Study Trustees Narayana Murthy and Manjul Bhargava (2001–02); former Members Jennifer Chayes (1994–95, 1997) and David Gross (1973–74, 1977–78); and K.
