Activate IMAP and SMTPauth for your account
In order to utilize an IMAP based email client, you must first activate IMAP access on your account in Zimbra Webmail. This will also activate SMTPauth. Here are the steps:
Log into the Zimbra Webmail User Interface.

Zimbra Initial Preferences ScreenClick on the "Mail" option on the left sidebar.

Zimbra Preferences Mail IMAP checkboxClick the checkbox to "Enable IMAP access".
Zimbra Preferences Mail IMAP checkbox checked- Click the "Save" button in the upper left corner.
- Continue with the set up of your IMAP/SMTPauth client.
It will take 5 minutes after making the change for SMTPauth to be available.
