High Performance Parallel Filesystem
High Performance Scratch Disk
E1000
Mount location
Flash scratch: /mnt/lustre/flash
User scratch: /mnt/lustre/user
The Typhon, Apollo, and Helios clusters as well as our compute servers have access to a high performance filesystem running Lustre. The system is a Cray ClusterStor E1000 providing 1.2PB of disk and 120TB NVMe with read/write speeds of 12GB/s for the disk and up to 60GB/s with flash. This is several times faster than /home and /data directories in read and write speed and can offer larger amounts of temporary disk space to use. Default user scratch quotas are set at 50TB with a data max age of 1 year. Any data over 1 year old residing in /mnt/lustre/user is subject to being purged. There is no quota set on flash scratch space but the data max age if 45 days. Any data over 45 days old residing in /mnt/lustre/flash may be purged.
Limits
/mnt/lustre/flash
No quota / 45 days
/mnt/lustre/user
50TB quota / 1 year
Please be aware of the following:
Scratch disk is NOT backed up. Please move any data that you wish to keep off of the filesystem.
L300
Mount location
Springdale 7: /scratch
Springdale 8: /scratch/lustre
The L300 is our previous storage solution which is currently being deprecated. This system is a Cray ClusterStor L300 running a Lustre filesystem providing 556TB of disk speed with read/write speeds of 10GB/s.
Please be aware of the following:
Scratch disk is NOT backed up. Please move any data that you wish to keep off of the filesystem.
This volume has no quota set and is shared by all users. Please remove any files that are no longer needed at the end of your job.
