Wilhelm Schlag studies spectral properties of Schrodinger operators with potentials defined by an ergodic process, such as shifts on tori. This is the wider area of Anderson localization. He also works on understanding the long-term behavior of solutions to nonlinear dispersive equations, such as focusing nonlinear wave equations. Methods of dynamical systems, mainly invariant manifold theory come into play in this analysis.
