Raúl Rabadán uses large databases of genome sequences to investigate patterns of evolution. Among other organisms, Raúl Rabadán has centered his research in the Influenza A virus, an RNA virus that infects birds and mammals. He analyzes the evolutionary rates, the reassortment rates, the patterns of evolution in different hosts, the molecular biology of interactions with the host, and the assembly of the virus. Other interests include retroviruses (HIV), cancer and autism.
