The 'genetic revolution' provides an unprecedented opportunity to enhance our understanding of disease, but this recent revolution needs to be integrated into our mature understanding of the social causes of illness. My project will develop principles for evaluating genetic causes in the context of pervasive environmental influences, especially those stemming from education.
