Janos Pintz is working in the field of additive theory of primes, mainly on problems related to the Goldbach and twin prime conjectures and gaps between primes. Additionally, he would like to investigate the analogous problems when primes are substituted by almost primes, that is, numbers with a fixed number of prime divisors.
