G. Calafat is working on Corsican families that were established in several port cities in Southern Europe and Ottoman North Africa (1550s-1650s). Investigating the relationships between religion, law and trade, he is focusing on their economic activities and networks through legal documents, notarial deeds, diplomatic correspondences and material artefacts.
