Don Wyatt

Don Wyatt's project examines the early modern construction of Chinese racial identity. His book-length study details in particular how the now-familiar classification of the Chinese as 'yellow' was originally an exogenous construct imposed on them as a people principally by a series of race-conscious thinkers of the late European Enlightenment.
