Dee Clayman’s project is a close study of the artists, actors, musicians, poets, historians, and philosophers who accompanied Alexander the Great on his march east. It aims to show that the expedition was an unprecedented cultural event that reinforced certain trends in postclassical Greek culture and reset the course of others.
