Tullio Regge was an Italian theoretical physicist known for his introduction of geometrical principles to the formulation of what have come to be called "Regge poles" and the "Regge calculus," a simplified form of general relativity. A graduate of the University of Rochester (Ph.D., 1956), Dr. Regge served as Professor of Theory and Relativity at the University of Turin beginning in 1962.
