Writers Talk - A Conversation with Will Eno

American playwright Will Eno talks about his work in a conversation with Derek Bermel, the Institute’s Artist-in-Residence. Eno is the author of Tragedy: a tragedy; The Flu Season; King: a problem play; Oh, the Humanity and other good intentions; and the one-act plays Lady Grey (in ever lower light), Intermission, and Mr. Theatre Comes Home Different, among other works. His play Thom Pain (based on nothing) was a finalist for the 2005 Pulitzer Prize in Drama, and Middletown was the winner of the 2010 Horton Foote Prize for Promising New American Play. Eno is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and is a Helen Merrill Playwriting Fellow and an Edward F. Albee Foundation Fellow. In 2005–06, he taught at Princeton University, where he held the Hodder Fellowship. His play The Flu Season won the 2004 George Oppenheimer-Newsday Award for best debut by an American playwright.
