Focusing on the key intersections of race, gender, and class, Mara Viveros’s research examines the processes of social mobility among black populations in each of Colombia’s geographic regions and explores the scope and limitations of Colombia’s liberal multiculturalist model for eliminating Afro-Colombian social inequalities.
