Joan Westenholz is working to deduce the anatomical knowledge of the ancient Mesopotamians and to understand the corporeal human body in Mesopotamian thought. Her work focuses on a unique anat­omical lexical series, a compendium enumerating all known parts of the human anatomy and the fundamental characteristics of the human condition.
