Beyond the cosmological constant: Detecting a dynamical dark energy
Many theories of dark energy predict a time-varying dark energy density, in stark contrast to Einstein’s cosmological constant. Earlier this year, we saw the first hints of an observational preference for such dynamical theories. In this talk, I will discuss different approaches to distinguishing dynamical dark energy from a cosmological constant, as well as methods for pinning down its underlying microphysics.
