The World of Thinking will make its U.S. premiere on Sunday, October 18, 2020 during the thirteenth annual Imagine Science Film Festival, presented by Pioneer Works. After the screening, IAS Professor Nima Arkani-Hamed, who stars in the film, joins Janna Levin, Pioneer Works Director of Sciences and Professor at Columba University, for what promises to be a stirring and dynamic discussion.

In addition to Arkani-Hamed, the film features IAS Director Robbert Dijkgraaf and follows the personal and intellectual journeys of School of Mathematics Professor Helmut Hofer, School of Natural Sciences Member Yvonne Geyer, and the late Professors Vladimir Voevodsky and Freeman Dyson.
Since its founding in 1930, the Institute for Advanced Study has been home to many of the world’s most revolutionary thinkers, including Albert Einstein, Robert Oppenheimer, Kurt Gödel, and many others. That legacy continues to this day as a new generation of IAS scholars shapes the next century of discovery.
This film, directed and written by Thomas Blum and Misha Wessel and originally broadcasted by BNNVARA, debuted in the Netherlands in 2019.
