Alondra Nelson Wins 2020 Morison Prize; Lecture on 10/1

Alondra Nelson, Harold F. Linder Professor in the School of Social Science, has been awarded the 2020 Morison Prize in Science, Technology, and Society.

Conferred by MIT, the award recognizes outstanding individuals who combine humanistic values with effectiveness in practical affairs, particularly in science and technology.

Professor Nelson gave the Morison Prize Lecture remotely on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 4 p.m. EST.

Nelson is author most recently of The Social Life of DNA: Race, Reparations, and Reconciliation after the Genome (excerpt here), a story of race, reparations, and reconciliation after the genome which last week earned honorable mention for the 2020 Diana Forsythe Prize.
