Gravitational-wave Data: Analysis techniques and future prospects
Since the first discoveries of gravitational waves and the data release from the first observing run of Advanced LIGO, the astrophysics community has a growing interest to understand gravitational-wave data. In this talk, I will give an overview on the search for gravitational waves from compact binary coalescences and the significance estimation of candidate events. We will also explore parameter estimation techniques and future prospects, such as observational tests of Hawking’s black-hole area increase law.
