The epoch of cosmic reionization is arguably the least observed epoch of cosmic history. However, the upcoming 21 cm radio interferometers and the next generation optical telescopes are on their way to shed light on the state of the IGM and the first stars at z>6. In order to properly analyze very diverse data from these instruments we have to understand all aspects of physical processes that take place at that time and combine them into one big picture. In my talk I would like to discuss the challenges in modeling the epoch of cosmic reionization, and what we will learn about the cosmological parameters and star formation rate as the first data will start to come out.
