Visions of Medieval Studies Conference Honors Patrick Geary

On April 13–14, 2019, the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, held a conference in honor of Patrick J. Geary, Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the School of Historical Studies.

Titled "Visions of Medieval Studies in North America" after Geary's 1994 article of the same name, the conference celebrated the anniversary of this important essay as well as the scope and impact of Geary's work and career.

A number of current and former IAS Members in the School of Historical Studies spoke at the conference, including Courtney Booker, Warren C. Brown, Bonnie Effros, John Eldevik, Eric J. Goldberg, Hans Hummer, Geoffrey Koziol, Cosmin Alin Popa-Gorjanu, and Teofilo F. Ruiz.
