University of Oslo to Host Celebration in Honor of Atle Selberg

The University of Oslo will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Atle Selberg's birth on June 14, 2017 and will feature a lecture by Peter Sarnak, Professor in the School of Mathematics. Widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest analytic number theorists, Norwegian mathematician Atle Selberg was appointed Professor in the School of Mathematics at the Institute for Advanced Study in 1951, transitioning to Professor Emeritus in 1987.
