Rahel Jaeggi to Speak on "Moral Progress and Social Change"

Rahel Jaeggi, Member in the School of Social Science, will speak on "Moral Progress and Social Change" at the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University on November 8, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.

Jaeggi, whose aim at IAS is to develop the idea of a normative-functional crisis as related to the normative-functional "grammar" of life forms, will ask, How should we conceive of social change and moral progress? How do they come about? How are the two phenomena, moral progress and social change, related to each other and how can they be evaluated—as change for the better?
