Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung’s Wolfgang Günter Lerch Reviews "The Crucible of Islam"

Wolfgang Günter Lerch reviews the German translation of Professor Glen Bowersock's The Crucible of Islam (Harvard University Press, 2017) in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

Lerch writes, "Much of what Bowersock brings is not new, but very revealing in its concentration and density. It was a chaotic environment in which the new religion emerged and grew. To show this is his real concern."
