When Picasso Almost Invented Abstract Painting
Yve-Alain Bois, Professor in the School of Historical Studies, discussed Picasso's complex relationship with abstraction with Artsy's Abigail Cain, saying “I thought that it was a very interesting thing. If someone as fearless as Picasso could recoil in front of the possibility of abstraction, how much more difficult would that have been for everyone else?”
