S.T. Lee Film Screening: Dahomey

This documentary–winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2024 and many other awards–is an account of the return to Benin of 26 royal treasures from the Kingdom of Dahomey. The film explores how the artifacts were returned from France to Benin, and the reactions of Beninese people.
Runtime: 1 hour 8 minutes
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Angelos Chaniotis, Professor of Ancient History and Classics in the School of Historical Studies, C. Brian Rose, James B. Pritchard Professor of Archaeology at the University of Pennsylvania, and Barbara Rüschoff-Parzinger, Head of Cultural Affairs of the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe.
