Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, based on Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography American Prometheus, is a tour de force exploration of a complex man along with his accomplishments and flaws. Christopher Nolan, known for his films Inception, Interstellar, and The Dark Knight trilogy, masterfully uses the soundtrack by Ludwig Göransson along with expertly done special effects in his narration of the birth of the atomic bomb during the height of the Second World War. Starring Cillian Murphy (J. Robert Oppenheimer), Emily Blunt (Kitty Oppenheimer), and Robert Downey Jr. (Lewis Strauss).
There will be two screenings in Wolfensohn Hall, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Registration is required. This event is open to the IAS community and there is not a fee to attend.
