Vartan Gregorian

Vartan Gregorian, Trustee Emeritus, lifelong champion of education, and renowned global intellectual, has passed away at the age of 87. Gregorian served on the Institute’s Board of Trustees from 1987–2013 with an unmatched appreciation for the IAS mission and its commitment to advancing knowledge. 

Institute Trustee Emeritus Vartan Gregorian was awarded the medal of Chevalier of the French Legion of Honor at a ceremony at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York City on February 9.
