On Generalized Lieb-Schultz-Mattis Theorems for Quantum Spin Chains
Abstract: I will review the operator algebraic formalism that allows to work with quantum spin systems directly in the thermodynamic limit. I will explain how this formalism can be used to prove generalized Lieb-Schultz-Mattis theorems that give constraints on the entanglement structure of ground states of 1d spin chains with anomalous symmetries.
