Spring Opportunities Workshop 2023

Abstract: The twenty years between when I started college and my first visit to IAS saw great changes in opportunities for women in mathematics, as in most professions. Concurrent with this was the birth of a new field of global or geometric analysis. It was a long time ago, and my perspective is skewed as I was in the middle of both. However, it might be useful to younger mathematicians to recognize that we are always in the midst of change. I will present some of my recollections from the years 1960-1980.
