The string theory S-matrix provides a rare glimpse into the complex nature of strong interactions and quantum gravity. In their traditional formulation, scattering amplitudes of strings are defined formally as integrals over moduli spaces of punctured Riemann spheres, which historically have proven notoriously difficult to understand beyond the low-energy, or $\alpha' \to 0$ limit. Recent advances in applying new mathematical tools, from tropical geometry and cluster algebras to analytic number theory, indicate a possibility of getting new handles on string scattering at finite $\alpha'$. The goal of this workshop is to bring together experts across the relevant fields to discuss future direction from multiple points of view. This workshop will be held in person only.

This workshop is sponsored by the Carl P. Feinberg Program in Cross-Disciplinary Innovation.
