Research Statement: I am working on a revisionist Egyptian history of the 1967 Arab-Israeli war. Relying on published memoirs by Egyptian commanders, newspaper and magazine interviews with officers, as well as literary works written by soldiers, I attempt to offer an account of the combat experience of thousands of soldiers facing one of the most catastrophic defeats in modern history.
