Physics Group Meeting

I will introduce the notion of the Swampland, first defined in 0509212/hep-th. I will then discuss a number of Swampland Conjectures, including "No Global Symmetries" (1011.5120/hep-th, 1810.05337/hep-th), the "Weak Gravity Conjecture" (0601001/hep-th), the "Swampland Distance Conjecture" (Conjecture 2 of 0605264/hep-th), and the "de Sitter Swampland Conjecture" (1806.08362/hep-th). If time permits, I will describe some ongoing work that relates the Weak Gravity Conjecture and Swampland Distance Conjecture to supersymmetric black hole solutions and BPS state counting.
