The Decay of Fourier Modes for 2D Navier-Stokes Systems with Special Boundary Conditions
We formulate several new boundary value problems for the 2D Navier-Stokes system. In all cases, we obtain quantitative decay estimates of the Fourier modes for both the vorticity and the velocity. In some special cases we found that the Fourier modes decay exponentially in one direction and along the other direction their decay is only power like. (This is joint work with E. Dinaburg and Ya. G. Sinai.)
