Non-Spectral Poles in Asymptotically Hyperbolic Scattering

This talk will discuss non-spectral poles of the scattering operator arising in problems with regular singular point behavior at infinity. The phenomenon will be exhibited in a one-dimensional model example involving the Yukawa potential on a half-line with Dirichlet boundary condition. Analogous behavior in scattering for asymptotically hyperbolic metrics will be described and its relation with conformal geometry of the boundary at infinity in the spirit of the AdS/CFT correspondence. This is work with Maciej Zworski of several years ago.
