Equivariant Cohomology in Algebraic Geometry
Although equivariant cohomology originated -- at this Institute -- nearly half a century ago, only much more recently has it become an active area of algebraic geometry. The equivariant cohomology rings of simple algebraic varieties such as Grassmannians, flag varieties, and toric varieties, have surprisingly rich structures, which illuminate their classical intersection theory. These lectures will give an introduction to some of this work.
