Child Care Fund

Childcare Fund for Program Participants
The Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) has created a child care fund to help offset a portion of the costs of dependent child care so program participants with children can more easily attend. Requests to receive support from the child care fund will be handled by the IAS Human Resources Department.
• Program participants who wish to apply for reimbursement for child care expenses must submit the request upon acceptance to the program and no later than 30 days prior to the start of the program
• Recipients of child care funding are responsible for making their own child care arrangements
• The fund will reimburse up to a maximum of $1,000 based on submitted receipts
Requests should be submitted by email hr@ias.edu or by fax 609-951-4468 to the IAS Human Resources Department, and must include the following:
o Name and home address of the program participant;
o Name, age(s) and home address of the dependent(s) receiving child care;
o A description of the dependent’s relationship to the program participant;
o A detailed budget noting anticipated child care expenses, including information about travel for the caregiver if applicable, as well as a description of the planned care (the provider’s name, the provider’s relationship to the applicant, the location of the care, hourly cost, other relevant information)
Please note this type of funding is considered taxable income by the Internal Revenue Service and will require a valid US Social Security number (SSN) or a US individual tax identification number (ITIN) and a completed Form W-9 for payment. Reimbursement will be provided to participants directly from the Institute for Advanced Study. Questions may be addressed to hr@ias.edu
