Institute Film Series in partnership with Women and Mathematics
British intelligence agency MI6 in 1939 recruited English mathematician Alan Turing, portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, to decipher Nazi codes including Enigma codes. Turing, assisted by Joan Clarke, portrayed by Keira Knightley, worked to analyze them and eventually built a machine to decipher them. The film directed by Morten Tyldum won an Oscar for Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay. This film runs 1 hour and 54 minutes. The event is free and open to the Institute community. Please note that food and drink are not allowed in Wolfensohn Hall.
