IHÉS PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT IN FULD HALL
Beginning at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, there was an exhibit of photographs related to the 50th anniversary of the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHÉS) on view in the ground floor hallway of Fuld Hall, right off the Common Room near the Director's Office suites. The photographs were displayed through Saturday, November 8, before being removed on Sunday, November 9 (before noon). The exhibit, conceived by IHÉS as accessible to general audiences, featured 27 photographs accompanied by explanatory text (in English).
The photographs and accompanying text featured in the exhibit are excerpted from The Unravelers (A K Peters, 2008), a book conceived and organized in 2007-2008 by Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) film directors Jean-François Dars and Anne Papillault and CNRS researcher Annick Lesne. The publication, now available in bookstores and online, contains fifty entries by established and up-and-coming scientists who are either current or past visitors at the institute.
