Vladimir Pechatnov is writing a book on George F. Kennan’s visions of Russia – from his early studies of the Soviet experiment to analyzing its collapse and post-Soviet evolution. Kennan’s analysis of the nature and prospects of the Soviet system in context of Russian history remains the most creative part of his intellectual legacy.
