Physics Group Meeting

Gauged Linear Sigma Models, B-branes and Hemispheres

I'll start reviewing some aspects of my paper with K. Hori [1] about localization of Gauged Linear Sigma Models (GLSM) on a disc/hemisphere. The focus is on a special class of boundary conditions corresponding to B-branes. I'll then review the relevant concept of grade restriction rule [2] which is fundamental for transport of B-branes around the moduli space. I'll discuss open problems and recent developments as well as relations with mathematics, as time allows. For the more mathematically oriented person, a review of GLSM and transport of B-branes in the context of hemisphere partition function is given in chapter 2 of [3].
