Physics Group Meeting

(Building on work by Sachdev, Ye, Parcollet and Georges) Kitaev has proposed a simple quantum mechanical model as a dual to an AdS_2 black hole. It would be nice to understand the bulk theory. (Is it local? Is there randomness? How is conformal symmetry broken?) We plan to discuss the emergence of the bulk in rather vague terms and to give a bit of background on AdS_2 dilaton gravity, following http://arxiv.org/abs/1402.6334 . The meeting will also serve as a place to continue discussion from Kitaev's seminar on Monday.
