Progress on the Geometry of Supersymmetric String Vacua
I will review what is known about geometric supersymmetric string vacua that are not based on Calabi-Yau manifolds, giving both general arguments and some examples. I will also describe some new results on an improved formal characterization of such manifolds, with some application to moduli counting. I will finally describe work in progress on applications to AdS/CFT.
