Possibilities for the 750 GeV Excess
In the 13 TeV LHC data both experiments have observed an excess of events in searches for new particles that decay to pairs of photons. Although the data is still inconclusive, this could be the first direct sign of new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this talk, I will discuss the possibilities (and impossibilities) for new physics from the low energy perspective. Next week's group meeting will continue the discussion focusing on broad implications for TeV-scale physics.
