The TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology at the Technical University of Munich has awarded Alondra Nelson, Harold F. Linder Professor in the School of Social Science, its inaugural Friedrich Schiedel Prize for Social Sciences and Technology, recognizing outstanding scholars and change makers in the field of social sciences.

Alondra Nelson, Harold F. Linder Professor in the School of Social Science, has been named the U.S. representative to the United Nations High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence, which aims to foster a globally inclusive approach to AI governance.

TIME has named Alondra Nelson, Harold F. Linder Professor in the Institute's School of Social Science, to the first-ever TIME100 AI list, which highlights 100 individuals advancing major conversations about how AI is reshaping the world.

Alondra Nelson, Harold F. Linder Professor in the School of Social Science, has received an honorary doctorate from Northeastern University, in recognition of her work as a “groundbreaking advocate for scientific discovery and technology innovation that focuses on ethics, racial and gender equity, and access.”

On November 15, Alondra Nelson, Harold F. Linder Professor in the School of Social Science, will be presented with a Public Service Award from the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) for "her leadership on both AI regulation and advancing equity in STEM fields."
